Last Sunday evening, the Newlands Golf Club choir took to the stage in the clubhouse and put on a wonderful concert performance which was very well attended and enjoyed by all present.
Directed by Tony Carroll with Rosemary O’Donnell providing accompaniment on piano, the choir featured soloists and musicians – all of whom are members of the club – and their singing brought a fantastic Christmas atmosphere to the club.
Not content with entertaining our own members, the choir also paid a visit to the Clondalkin Lodge Nursing Home on Saturday afternoon and entertained the residents for 40 minutes, singing all their favourite Christmas songs. This was a first for Newlands Golf Club choir and was considered to be a wonderful success. They received a tremendous warm welcome from the residents and staff of the Nursing Home . The Christmas songs were very much appreciated and created a cheerful and happy atmosphere. It is hoped they can repeat this in future years.
Congratulations to all involved!
