Newlands Guidelines – COVID 19 – Updated 17 March

In addition to  COVID 19 guidelines from GUI & ILGU  see here  and  in the interest of Health and Safety, the following additional measures are being implemented at Newlands Golf Club, thank you all for your cooperation and support.

Members and staff returning from overseas visits are requested not to visit the Club for 14 days.

Green Fees and member guests are not permitted and the Pro Shop has been advised accordingly.

Showers/towels will not be in operation until further notice.

The Administration Office is closed to members and visitors and will deal with queries and requests for information by email and telephone only during the hours of 9.00am to 13.00pm and 14.00pm to 17.00pm.

Wednesday Captains Drive In, due to take place on Wednesday 1st April will be rescheduled.

All Thursday Golfing Society competitions have been cancelled until further notice.

The Junior programme which was to commence on Monday 6th April will be rescheduled.

Junior members under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and should not congregate in groups of more than 3.

The snooker and junior rooms are closed until further notice.

Access to the clubhouse is restricted to ground floor only via the door facing onto the putting greens. The front doors into the locker rooms will be left open.

Flag poles have been removed from the holes on all of our greens. A flag to indicate the position of the hole on each green, front, middle or back, will be placed at the rear of each green, embedded in a cup holder to maintain each coloured flag in an upright and visible position. 

Rakes will be removed from the bunkers, please use your golf clubs diligently to even out the sand for fellow golfers.

Please observe the guidelines the competition secretaries have posted to minimise card and technology handling for members, staff and volunteers.

No BRS booking facility will be available at the clubhouse until further notice.

Please leave the club before 6.30pm daily as security will be setting alarms, locking up and closing the gates at 7 pm daily, until further notice.

A  COVID-19 oversight committee has been in place since early March.
