The Newlands Corporate Golf Day 2018 on Saturday 22nd September 2018 was a resounding success. The support from teams was fantastic. The weather was beautiful and members, guests and sponsors commented on the great buzz around the club all day and night. President Sean McEvoy complimented Tom Dunne, Gay Nolan and the team of organisers for running a first class event. Well done to all involved.
The ultimate winners were TEAM COOLTECH REFRIDGERATION, with two members seen here being presented with their prizes by President Sean and Gay Nolan

Thank you so much for your generous support of our Club Charity Day on the 8th September last. We raised a considerable amount of money for our charities Arch, Mental Health and the Marie Keating Foundation and they have all assured us that our money will be put to very good use.
We are also extremely grateful to our sponsors – Roadstone, Johnny and Hillary Vaughan, Koping Motors and our anonymous donor – who helped ensure our day was so successful.
Thanks also to the Team Newlands who organised the event. Owen Caughey was the chief organiser and without his help the day would not have happened. Thank you Owen.

This time it was the turn of the Flynn’s (Paul and Bernadette) together with the O’Gormans (Christine and Sean) to clean up at the jointly sponsored Harkness Electical and Frontline Mechanical and Electrical Services Mixed Event, held on Tuesday, 4th September 2018.
The timesheet was full, the atmosphere was terrific, there was a vas array of prizes on offer – front nine, back nine, 4 best nearest the pin prizes, together with 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th team prizes. All made possible by the generous sponsorship of Greg Harkness and Des Kenny.
If it wasn’t for the terrible jokes that were told late into the night, it would have been a perfect day.
There would be a vacuum in our lives if this event didn’t appear in the diary next year!!

The final of the East Leinster Senior Foursomes took place in Seapoint Golf Club at 8.30am, between ourselves and Laytown and Bettystown, on Sunday 2nd September 2018.
Manager Grainne Friel, and Assistant Manager Sheilagh Keogh put out a very strong team – Esme Murphy and mary K O’Mahony, Mags O’Connell and Rebecca Carroll, and Orla Heffernan and Roseleen Cunningham. Orla and Roseline recorded a terrific win, however Laytown and Bettystown played very well in the other matches and took the East Leinster District pennant home.
It was a great achievement to get to the final of this Senior Foursomes competition, beating Milltown, Rathfarnham, and Elm Park on the way.
It wasn’t our day on Sunday, but managers and players deserve our congratulations.
Many thanks too to the Purple Army who turned up in such great numbers to support their team. #You’reTheBest
