Lucy Kavanagh wins Junior Girls’ Open at Castle 13 April

Congratulations to Lucy Kavanagh (aged 12) on winning the Girls’ Junior Open at Castle Golf Club on 13 April. Playing off 35, Lucy posted a fantastic score of 39pts.

Leinster Boys Amateur Open Championship

Junior Captain Cameron Raymond and Evan Hollowed are competing in the Leinster Boys Amateur Open Championship at Headford golf club.

Cameron is currently lying T1 and Evan T74.

Play commenced this morning at 8:00am with a field of 120 of Irelands leading underage golfers hoping to take the 2017 title. Defending champion John Brady, Rosslare teed off at 9:30am and will be hoping to retain the trophy.

Competitors will play one stroke round of 18 holes today and tomorrow and the top 39 competitions plus ties with the lowest gross score going forward to play the final 18 holes on Friday.

Congratulations Jake Whelan

Congratulations Jake Whelan on an excellent performance in the West of Ireland amateur championship. Jake lost out in his semi final to Royal Dublin’s Barry Anderson. Barry overcame Portmarnock’s Jack Pierse in the final to take the title.

Well done Jake on a great achievement.

Congratulations to Newlands Irish Mixed Foursomes team

Congratulations to Newlands Irish Mixed Foursomes team who won a very tight second round match against a very competitive Tulfarris team last Friday 14th April. Both teams were well supported both home and away. Four of the matches were decided on 18th.
Well done to all involved.
