The following are Not Permitted in Newlands Golf Club

  • Jeans
  • Tracksuits
  • Non – tailored shorts
  • Headwear
  • Collarless Shirts
  • Golf Shoes/RUNNERS/TRAINERS (JUNIORS MAY WEAR RUNNERS DURING THE DAY)
  • Entry to Bar/Restaurant without appropriate footwear
  • Please note only tailored knee length shorts permitted in the clubhouse

The Members of Newlands Golf Club have invested significant resources towards the improvement of the Course and Clubhouse facilities over the past few years. Members and Visitors alike are very complimentary about the new facilities and we can all be proud of that fact.

The Management Committee believe that in these circumstances it is now more important than ever to ensure that proper standards of dress code are strictly observed on the Course and in the Clubhouse.

With immediate effect notices will be posted in the Clubhouse outlining forms of dress that will not be permitted on the Course or in the Clubhouse. As and from Friday 17th September 2010, Members who are observed to be in breach of the standards will receive a letter from the Management Committee outlining the breach in question. Second or further breaches of the regulations may lead to disciplinary action being taken against the Member concerned.

At no stage will members be approached by a member of staff or a fellow Member as this could lead to confrontation. Members should note that they are also responsible for the conduct and dress code of Visitors that they invite to the club.

It is a condition of membership that Members abide by the standards of the club and no Member has the right to compromise these standards. Members will be aware that golf is a game of honour based on self regulation and members are expected to use similar self governance in the Clubhouse.
